Set up your gesture

Pick one way to start Pappi. You can set up all of them.

Back Tap

Any iPhone 8 or newer
  1. 1Add the “Talk to Pappi” shortcut — tap the button below, or open Shortcuts, tap +, search Pappi and pick “Start or Stop Talking”.
  2. 2Open Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap.
  3. 3Scroll down to Shortcuts and pick “Talk to Pappi”.
  4. 4Double-tap the back of your iPhone to start. Double-tap again to stop.

Action Button

iPhone 15 Pro and newer
  1. 1Open Settings → Action Button.
  2. 2Swipe to Controls and pick Pappi (iOS 18), or swipe to Shortcut and pick “Talk to Pappi”.
  3. 3Press and hold the Action Button to start. Again to stop.

Control Center

iOS 18
  1. 1Swipe down from the top-right corner.
  2. 2Tap + in the top-left, then Add a Control.
  3. 3Search Pappi and add “Talk to Pappi”. There's also “Pappi Camera”.

Lock Screen button

iOS 18
  1. 1Touch and hold the Lock Screen, then tap Customize → Lock Screen.
  2. 2Tap the flashlight or camera button at the bottom and remove it.
  3. 3Tap + and pick “Talk to Pappi”.

Siri

Nothing to set up
  1. 1Say “Hey Siri, talk to Pappi”.

Let Pappi see your screen

In Pappi, tap “Let Pappi see my screen”, choose Pappi Screen and tap Start Broadcast. The red indicator at the top means Pappi can see the screen. Tap it to stop any time.
